I am a professional photographer specialising in portrait and commercial photography, so when I travel I leave my pro cameras at the studio and only take a small, lightweight camera that I have had converted to capture Infrared. I love the way I am able to see the world in a completely different way, using the otherwise invisible spectrum (beyond red) to capture the world as we are not able to see it with our own eyes. The experience of capturing the invisible makes the experience of photography in this way a completely refreshing and exciting process for me. It gives me a perfect excuse to interrogate the landscape; explore its form, texture, depth and story through light and energy. For this body of work, I have collated various landscapes into sets that, for me, speak specifically about a particular form or subject that is threaded across all the frames, despite being taken in vastly different places. It is a reminder about the building blocks of the complex world we inhabit, and the intriguing landscapes we navigate. It is a reminder to never lose a sense of wonder about this continent I now call home.
