Sproutt is a local company a stone’s throw from the studio, and we had a relaxed coffee one morning to discuss their new headshots for their brand new website. 

They had already had the ‘standard’ headshots done but weren’t thrilled with the lack of innovation in the approach to reflecting their company’s character. It was a great conversation where we made a plan for this new series of ‘headshots’. 

Sproutt is “An engineering, design and asset management consultancy that provides creative and pragmatic solutions to enhance our communities”.

I guess you can already decipher the strategy here – to capture the individual personalities of their team by enabling them to express who they are outside of the office. 

It was so much fun to shoot these images! I specifically wanted the backdrop to reflect their work in civil engineering, so I photographed a concrete building nearby and had that image printed onto a backdrop specifically for this shoot. I love that it is still clean and simple, but with a lot more personality than the standard grey / neutral backdrop. 

We shot this series in a way that is easily replicable as new people join their team, with lighting diagrams recorded to maintain consistency as the company grows.

This is the direction that corporate photography is going for companies that are willing to go the extra mile to create something meaningful for their people, and something memorable and fresh to reflect who they are as a company.
