Cog Creative Cyclorama Care
Our Pro Studio Cyclorama is great for a variety of shoots – full length fashion, group shoots, product shoots, music videos and anything in-between. To keep the cyc in good working order, the following care is required by all users of the space.
Our cyclorama floor is painted with a semi-gloss white that can be mopped or wiped clean between shots. However, the walls are painted with a matte finish paint that CANNOT be wiped clean – it must be painted to clean marks that are left on the walls. Please DO NOT stand or lean against the curve or walls of the cyc!
General Care
- Pressure or weight cannot be placed on the curve of the cyclorama.
- LIGHT STANDS (or any stands without soft feet) must have their feet covered with the supplied (or your own) tennis balls to protect the cyclorama from denting.
- The floor can be lightly mopped or wiped with Sugar Soap wipes between takes as required.
- Please ask crew and talent (when appropriate) to wear non-marking shoes, or socks when not handling equipment (for safety).
- Bare feet are not recommended for both safety reasons and cleanliness (they can mark the floor more than socks)
- When using furniture (stools, chairs, tables etc.) DO NOT drag them when moving them – make sure you lift and carefully place them down. If possible please place them on a rug if the floor is not seen in the shot.
Painting
We paint the cyclorama on a regular basis, but it is not painted before every shoot. If you require a totally fresh cyc for your shoot, please advise us at the time of your booking (at least 5 days notice is required if possible) and we will make sure it is freshly painted for you – this will incur a $AU75 + GST paint fee.
Your responsibility
Some shoots are booked straight after one another, so please ensure that you leave the cyc in a clean and tidy state when you leave. If you cause damage or leave the studio in an excessively dirty condition, a cyc cleaning fee will be charged.
Damage can be caused by dropped equipment or props so please take care, as repair costs will be charged. A 2-coat re-coat fee may be charged if the cyc is left in an excessively dirty condition.
Cleaning up after your shoot is INCLUDED in your booking time – please ensure you leave sufficient time to tidy up before the end of your booking as there may be a shoot straight after yours.
- Sweep the cyc after your shoot if your shoot has left debris around the space
- If your shoot involves glittery clothes, confetti, streamers, etc -you will need to vacuum the cyc after your shoot. The vacuum can be found in the corridor leading to the toilets
- Light marks left on the cyc floor can be wiped off with sugar soap wipes or spray and wipe and paper towel (found in the kitchen under the sink)
- Larger marked areas need to be mopped. We have a spray-style mop in the kitchen – just squeeze the trigger to spray cleaning fluid and mop the area.
