Daylight Studio motorbike SHOOT with Jack Adamson
Jack Adamson worked in the Daylight Studio to capture a 2024 Yamaha YZF-R7 using the studio’s Profoto lighting range.
Jack Adamson has recently completed an internship at Cog and has since become one of our go-to assistants for both location and studio shoots. With such a big group of in-house photographers, Jack got a very broad range of experience during his time with us, and he has proved himself to be an exceptional support on shoots, as well as an excellent photographer himself.
This shoot in the daylight studio was Jack’s first professional studio shoot (having an already solid portfolio of available-light work) using the Profoto lighting gear. He used the daylight studio with its easy access to the carpark via the roller door, and it proved perfect for his subject – a 2024 Yamaha YZF-R7 with a carbon fairing kit. Jack had a solid shoot plan and both Sam and Shaun were on-hand to assist him on this multi-light setup. He ended up using a combination of direct light on the bike using striplights and gridded reflectors, as well as indirect bounced light onto a large poly board.
Our large monitor was useful for jack’s client Mike to inspect the shots to discuss details with Jack as he worked. Jack’s buddy Jamie was on-hand to support (and provide pizza), and the shoot was done and dusted with great results.
We love seeing how versatile the studio spaces can be for a variety of shoots. Thanks to Diamonds Camera for providing our lighting equipment as well as ongoing support to our growing crew of creatives!
